Producer / Engineer / Mixer
John Foyle is a British recording engineer, mixer and producer based in West London. He began his career as an intern working at Damon Albarn’s private studio where he assisted on sessions including Bobby Womack, Blur, Gorillaz and Damon Albarn’s debut solo album ‘Everyday Robots’.
John started working at XL Recordings in 2012 where he designed and began managing Richard Russell’s private studio. Whilst running this studio full time, John has gained recording, production and mixing credits whilst working with a number of exciting artists including Ibeyi, Sampha, FKA Twigs, Giggs, Mark Ronson, Jai Paul, Peter Gabriel and Earl Sweatshirt. John has also been closely involved in a new collaboration based project produced by Richard Russell, ‘Everything Is Recorded’.
Alongside his position at XL John has established himself as a freelance recording and mixing engineer having also worked on a number of different projects outside of the label including Ibibio Sound Machine, Baio, Our Mother, Palmistry, Maverick Sabre and Jessie Ware.
